CITY OF PIGS
Port Wine Hotel House
With astonishing single mindedness Chinese developers, city planners and builders took on the eighty years old plus concept of single standing "towers" in a "park" with few, very few reservations. These primarily include ways of bringing budgets lower, although, ironically the resultant closed communities, called in north American parlance "projects" and intended for low income residents, here they are "marketed" as "premium accommodation" intended for "luxurious life" whatever that may mean in the circumstances. Spacing between towers is brought to a minimum, to the bare passing of the code that prescribes minimum of two hours of direct sunlight a day on all of the building's bedrooms. The sudden reverence towards the ideals of modernism is the latter’s simplicity in realization and lower plot sizes needed.
